What can I tell you about today? It was probably the busiest day I’ll have while I’m here. There’s a lot to do to be fully prepared to do next to nothing all week.
The morning started with the girls—breakfast and some outdoor time. They remember me, but Clover is super shy, and there’s no rushing a friendship with her. Give her time & space, and she rewards me by occasionally coming over to let me pet her.
A walk on the beach was up next...had the place mostly to myself.
And my FitBit says I got in a serious number of steps, though I’m a little skeptical of that number.
I didn’t even break a sweat!
Back to the house to laze around for an hour or so. Ivy was showing me how it’s done, and I was stretched out on the couch taking notes.
Clover joined us for a bit, long enough for one photo. Only one.
I finally got up and drove to Port St. Joe to do my grocery shopping for the week, one of the not fun but necessary chores that will allow me to do nothing the rest of the week. Back home again, and I gave the girls bones to chew on while I unloaded the car.
We hung out til about 4:30 (Central time) when I walked back to the beach. I spent a few minutes looking at shells...
...and then enjoyed a glorious sunset.
When I came back to the house, I sat outside while the girls patrolled the yard.
It was almost dark when we came inside. The girls were up & down and in & out while I cooked a pot of soup—the other chore that will allow me to be lazy the rest of the week. Yeast-free, this will be my breakfasts for the week.
Thats our Day 1. I hope all of you had as pleasant a Monday as I did.
Ok I felt a little bad for you that you were spending thanksgiving away from Jamie but that feeling has now left completely and has been replaced with a little jealousy. But not too much. I’m very happy for you!! It looks like a fantastic way to spend 9 days!!! Enjoy, sweet friend!
Other than Grocery Shopping, sounds like a great day. Enjoy the peace and tranquillity!
