When my sons got married, there was no question I would NOT be the photographer; my role those days was strictly Mother of the Groom. On September 3rd, 2022, I have the honor & privilege of photographing the wedding of Katie & Jake, and it will be the closest thing to photographing the wedding of one of my sons as could be. Jake grew up in a home just across the field outside my backyard, and he spent many many hours hanging out at my house with Seth. I've known him since he was knee high to a grasshopper, and I'm thrilled to be his & Katie's photographer.
We did their engagement session at Katie's Happy Place, a little spot called Fires Creek in Hayesville, NC. It was a bit of a drive but so worth it. Katie brought me a jar of homemade blackberry preserves from her grandmother, and they were so yummy! Working with them was quite a treat, and I used the time to get Jake used to thinking of me as his photographer, not Ms. Adrianne, Seth's mom.
Presented here, mostly without commentary, is just a small sampling from their session. I could have picked many more.
This was early June, we were in the mountains, the water was brrrrrrr, but they were total troopers...
We ended with Jake teaching Katie to skip stones, which he obviously takes very seriously.
It's fun to photograph a couple so comfortable with each other, and I can hardly wait til next Saturday.
Love the location and beautiful images!
Whoa. Gorgeous work, my friend.
